Participate in private OT services that are personalized, accessible, goal oriented and evidence based. Tessa will work together with your family to first highlight your child's strengths and then identify your child's barriers to success with play, school and everyday routines. At Connect.the.dOTs, the WHOLE child is taken into consideration- their fine/gross motor abilities, sensory preferences and executive functioning skills. Let's highlight our child's "superpowers" and help them thrive.
Create a plan to reach your child's goals in the setting that makes sense! Tessa has a sensory gym located in Broad Ripple, where she welcomes your family to join her for sessions focused on sensory integration, emotional regulation strategies and/or motor development. Tessa also provides OT services within five local schools- reach out to learn if your child could be seen for services at school. Some services, including parent education, are offered virtually.
Tessa is a pediatric OT with over a decade of experience, treating both pediatric and adult patients. For many years, she has worked in hospital-based outpatient and inpatient settings around Indianapolis including RHI and Riley Hospital for Children. In 2018, she became certified as a Clinical Brain Injury Specialist. Her in depth neuro knowledge translates to her passion for child development. When away from her clinical role, Tessa enjoys spending time outside with her husband and two daughters, Georgie (7) and Leah (5). She stays active playing tennis and golf. Whenever possible, she loves to see clients outside- there is nothing more regulating to the system than playing in the fresh air!

A great option for busy families who need solutions now. This option, allows time for Tessa to get a full picture of family routines and dynamics. All relevant areas of sensory processing, primitive reflexes, visual motor skills and visual perception will be assessed. Concepts of up regulators and down regulators will be reviewed as they relate to your child’s sensory preferences. You will be sent an individualized daily schedule as a way to incorporate sensory exercises into daily routines.
A full Occupational Assessment is completed, determining your child's strengths and motivations as well as their barriers to success. An individualized plan of care will be created with measurable goals and a recommended frequency of services to meet the needs of the family and the child. We will determine location for ongoing treatment at that time.
Goal directed treatment sessions conducted in the comfort of your own home, in the Connect.the.dOTs gym, at your child's school (pending permission) or within the community (parks or other outdoor areas may be used depending on goals).
Schedule a virtual OT session and get your questions answered. Together, we can problem solve through your current concerns. Tessa will advise on how to incorporate OT strategies into your child's routines to promote success. Topics discussed are goal oriented and driven by each family's individual needs.
A great option for check ins and when in-person meetings are unattainable due to scheduling conflicts, weather, transportation etc... Contact to learn more about what we can do virtually to assist in progressing your child towards their goals.
Can't make your appointment, but would like to continue progressing towards goals and skip the cancellation fee? Opt. for a personalized HEP in the form of a video or handout for you and your child to follow along. Each exercise program will last 10-15 min. and can be replayed/repeated. This option is also available in addition to or in replace of scheduled treatment sessions once initial evaluation has been completed.

If your child is struggling with attention, hypersensitivity or lack of coordination, and you haven't been able to pinpoint why- primitive reflex integration may help. Following an assessment, OT creates an individualized plan to target retained reflexes. PRI services are typically provided 1-2 times a week for 8-10 weeks depending on the individual child and their goals. Contact to learn more about whether this method is a good option for your child.
Great for any child who could use a BOOST with age-appropriate play skills, strength and coordination! A 5 session series. Children will participate in tabletop tasks to inc. fine motor strength and visual motor skills (e.g. lego challenges, crafts).
